Kitchen Cabinet Refinishing
What makes our kitchen cabinet refinishing unique? Why choose us? Simple, its our use of the best coatings on the market. Notice, how I referred to it as a coating and not paint. Paint primarily is used for aesthetics and decoration, while coatings are designed for a wider range of functional purposes, including protection, durability, and specific performance requirements. We only use a high solids 2 part epoxy, that can be custom tinted to any color at no extra charge. This is what makes our kitchen cabinet refinishing the best around.
Our Kitchen Cabinet Painting Process step-by-step
- First lets choose a color. Our coatings manufacturer can custom tint there sprayable epoxy to match any color. For example, the most popular option I use is Sherwin Williams –SW 7757 High Reflective White
- Painting kitchen cabinets is a very detail oriented task. Typically an average sized kitchen can be completed in a week. Prep work is the key to any quality finish, and we take pride in our work. It shows.
- The first day is a methodical approach. Every door and drawer is removed and numbered, as each piece has to be installed in the same location. We also remove and number all hardware as they also will need to be installed in there same locations. As long as matching hinges and handles are purchased, we will install them at no extra charge. All doors and drawers are loaded into our vehicle to be sprayed offsite.
- The second day is the hustle day. An extremely thorough cleaning and degreasing is done. We will then assess and repair any damage. Sanding the entire fascia is next, with one last cleaning and wipe down to follow. Next will be the masking of your kitchen. This is an art form in of itself. We do not normally do the interior of the box’s, but for an addition charge we will. We invert our masking tape to the inside of the cabinets, by doing this any or all of your kitchen cabinet items can stay there with no chances of getting paint on them. We finish off the day masking your floors, surrounding walls, and any large open areas.
- Today is the day for transformation. We apply 2 coats of primer and 2 top coats. While we are spraying, its best if no one is close to our area. We take precautions using air scrubbers and negative air pressure, but it is still an epoxy. Curing takes place over night, and any kind of lingering scents will have dissipated by the next morning. After completing with the paint, we clean up our area. You are now free to use your kitchen as normal.
- The next 2 days will be spent taking care of your doors. All doors are hung and sprayed for a uniform and factory like finish.
- The last day is spent with the reinstalling of your doors and is usually only a few hours to complete.
