How long will it last?
If the care and maintenance recommendations are followed, you may reasonably expect your refinished fixture to remain as new for Ten to Twelve years at the minimum. If we refinish your tile, you should never have to refinish it again. Just one of the many fantastic features of the material we apply is that it is easily repaired should you damage it years down the road.
How long does the process take?
Every job is unique, but the time we’ll spend on a basic bathtub that has never been refinished before should be between 3 and 4 hours depending on its condition. The timing of your particular job will be discussed in depth both when you book the job with us and again when we arrive for your appointment.
What should I do before you come?
We ask that you have a working drain available as the extensive preparation procedures we use will require several rinses along the way. In addition, if there is a leak from your faucet that exceeds one drop per minute, you should have that repair completed prior to the refinishing process. It is very important that no water fall on the newly refinished surface for the agreed upon amount of time. That time will be discussed with you both before and after the job is completed.
How long do I have to wait before I can use my refinished bathtub?
We require that you wait 24 hours before using the refinished fixture. Any damage caused by touching or using the refinished items prior to the 24 hours will not be covered under the warranty.
Will it smell during the procedures.. or after?
We take extreme precautions to prevent any hazardous or smelly vapor or material from entering your home. The ventilation units we use are rated at 2500 cubic feet per minute. What this means to you is that should you have a bathroom with a 15′ x 20′ floor plan, our ventilator will exhaust every bit of air in the room every minute, even if you don’t have a window in the bathroom. Most bathrooms are much smaller and our units will change the air in your room several times a minute exhausting everything out a nearby window and clear of your living space. When we have completed refinishing your fixture, we recommend that you leave the window open and the door closed. Any residual smell should fade completely within 24 hours.
Can you change the color?
Most of the jobs we complete are done for the purpose of changing color or style. Color changes can be made to any color of your choosing. We can special order exact matches to most major brand names such as Kohler, American Standard, and more. If you have a color which you are unable to name, you can send us a sample chip or tile and we can have that exact matched by our supplier.
How long is your warranty?
We offer the industry leading warranty of five(5) years. The warranty covers all material failure or manufacturing defects not caused by the customer by mistreatment of the refinished surface. We certify in writing with every job that our work will not de-laminate for a full 5 years. Beware those companies offering full coverage warranties longer than five years, chances are they are not planning on remaining in business long enough to honor it. If something unforeseen, assuming proper care and maintenance and at no fault to yourself, were to occur with the material that we apply, we will return immediately and at absolutely zero cost to you.
What kind of material do you use, and does it really matter?
Wrights Resurfacing and Repair uses only the highest quality topcoats coming directly from the manufacturer. Time tested and applied with durability, flexibility and beauty as our primary focus. Our first primer system is a wipe on silane based multi-component system that has been stress tested to be superior to nearly every other product on the market. To absolutely guarantee we provide the longest lasting finish in the industry, we then apply a full coverage epoxy primer prior to applying our top coat. We go the extra mile not only in the application of that material, but most especially in the preparation of the surface being refinished. Preparation is the most important thing to ensure a long lasting finish. No company in the industry has a more extensive or complete process of preparation coupled with the highest quality products than us.
Will the surface be slippery?
The surface can often be more slippery after the process is completed. Should this concern you, we offer a beautiful non-slip bottom as an accessory to the refinishing process. We place the non-slip additive underneath all the coats of material we apply. The texture is perfect to prevent slipping, and yet will NOT catch dirt over time. Please ask us about this when you book the appointment.
My bathroom is under construction, at what stage should we refinish the bathtub/tile?
We highly recommend that we be the last procedure completed in your remodeling efforts. It is most especially important that should you be replacing the floor for that to again be completed prior to our appointment. The only thing that we would possibly recommend being left until after we complete the work would be a final coat of paint on the walls. Please refrain from having an open construction site in the room where we are doing the work as this will cause an undo amount of dust and debris to possibly fall on the surface. We make every effort to protect the fixture being refinished from any possible finish marring material, but open construction makes is virtually impossible to prevent every bit of dust and debris from getting close to the fixture.
